The Bellevue Hospital Foundation made Valentine’s Day a memorable experience for Heather Coleman of Valparaiso, IN, as her name was drawn as the grand prize winner in the 9th annual “Is Your Heart Set on a Vette” Corvette Raffle. The winning ticket was #1055. The drawing can be seen in the video below.
Bellevue Mayor Kevin Strecker had the honor of drawing the winners out of the barrel containing all 2,019 tickets sold for the raffle.
As the grand prize winner, Coleman has her choice of a brand new 2019 Corvette plus $40,000, or $100,000 in cash.
Four runner-up winners each received cash prizes, including Dan Sharp, Dayton, OH, $2,019 (ticket #1648); Kay Tobey, Leesburg, FL, $1,917 (ticket #1631); Thomas Herrmann, Saint Johns, MI, $1,500 (ticket #0558); and Kathryn Campbell, Brentwood, TN, $1,000 (ticket #1579).
“We wish to congratulate Heather and the other four winners,” said Michael K. Winthrop, President and CEO of The Bellevue Hospital (TBH). “We kicked-off this raffle in September of 2018 and we accomplished our goal of selling all 2,019 tickets by November 20, 2018.”
Continued Winthrop, “For us, this made the raffle highly successful. It was important for us to sell and run this raffle in the right way and it was a great effort from our Foundation, Accounting Department, Marketing Department, and numerous volunteers.”
The accounting firm of Cook, Smith & Company, CPA’s, Bellevue, OH, verified that all tickets were properly filled out and placed in the locked barrel prior to the drawing.
Tickets were sold to people in 47 different U.S. states and in Canada, noted Dennis Sabo, TBH Foundation Director. “I would like to personally thank Gary Steinle of Steinle Chevrolet-Buick in Clyde. They were the co-sponsor of this event. Also, thanks to Bill & Scott Brugnone at the Bellevue Beverage Center, the Fremont Steinle location, the hospital Gift Shop staff, Craig Stahl at Lake Shore Graphics in Sandusky, TBH employees, and Foundation Board members for all the support. We could not have accomplished this massive project without all their help.”
Sabo noted that all proceeds will benefit Foundation women’s and children’s projects, including the Women’s Mammography Fund, which will help supply screening mammograms for underinsured or uninsured women.
