Volunteers

From the moment you walk through the doors... you notice a difference.  You are welcomed into our family and surrounded by caring individuals who make a noticeable difference.  Our volunteers shine through offering assistance, sharing time and touching the lives of others.

Volunteers at The Bellevue Hospital serve in many capacities at the hospital.  Our volunteers welcome guests, escort patients and families, perform clerical duties and serve in the gift shop.  You will receive orientation and training before you begin your adventure as a volunteer at The Bellevue Hospital.  The hours you volunteer will be flexible and most often a four-hour schedule is preferred.

In addition to having the pleasure in knowing your time will contribute to the overall quality of care our patients receive, our volunteers also benefit by: A free and delicious meal during your time volunteering, qualify for various discounts within the community, 20% off purchases made in the hospital gift shop, free uniforms, work-related experience, scholarship opportunities and meeting new friends.

Volunteer opportunities at The Bellevue Hospital include:

Clerical assistance
Gift shop personnel
Greeter
Receptionist
Waiting room attendant

To become a volunteer at The Bellevue Hospital, you need to be at least 14 years of age and should exemplify the following characteristics: 

• A willingness to learn new things
• A desire to touch the lives of others
• An ability to feel good about yourself and your accomplishments, while making a difference and helping others
• An openness to make new friends
• A sense of belonging to the family of The Bellevue Hospital
