The Bellevue Hospital, the Bellevue Recreation Department, and Huron Public Health are encouraging individuals to get up and get moving with a Couch-to-5K Program. The nine-week training plan is free, and will prepare participants for a 5K race, whether it is their first time or they want to get back into racing.
An introductory meeting will be held on April 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in Burson Conference Room at The Bellevue Hospital. Participants will meet at various locations throughout Bellevue once a week on Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m. from April 18 - June 13. A schedule of those meetings will be given to participants at the introductory meeting. Training will consist of three workouts per week.
The program will conclude with the Dr. D. Ross Irons 5K Memorial Run/Walk on Friday, June 23, 7:00 p.m. at the Bellevue High School Track. The memorial 5K is held in collaboration with Bellevue Community Days. The pre-entry registration fee is $25, with all proceeds to benefit The Bellevue Hospital Mammography Fund.
Prizes will be awarded based on the number of meetings you attended and the completion of the Dr. D. Ross Irons 5K.
Registration will continue through April 3. To register, visit www.bellevuerec.com or call the Bellevue Recreation Department at 419.483.5555. Registration forms may also be picked up, mailed or dropped off at the Bellevue Recreation Department, 110 Cherry Blvd., Bellevue.
