The Bellevue Hospital Foundation recently received a $30,000 donation from the Louise H. & David S. Ingalls Foundation in Shaker Heights, OH, in honor of the hospital’s Centennial fundraising campaign.
“This was a special event for our hospital because the Ingalls Foundation started off as the Harkness Foundation many decades ago, and as many Bellevue residents know, our hospital was built with donated funds from William L. Harkness back in 1914,” said Foundation Director Dennis Sabo. “The Hospital Foundation submitted a grant request back in July and we were recently honored by this generous donation from the Ingalls Foundation in honor of our 100th anniversary.”
The money will be used to purchase equipment and improve patient care areas at the local hospital facility.

The hospital started a Harkness Legacy Fund for its 100th anniversary, asking 100 residents or companies to make a one-time pledge of $1,000 to the Foundation. To date, just 13 of those opportunities remain. Each pledge comes with perks and recognition.
